The original post mentioned nothing regarding a hard coding  of the
IP address field.  If you had presented your question properly,
it is without doubt that I would have responded differently.

Perhaps you should read what you are going to send before you
actually hit the mouse pointer and send button.

By the way, what version of Linksys router are you referring to?

I have thirty or forty of them operating in various locations
and of different types/versions, too. Never ran into one that
could not be programmed.

Yes, I do learn something new everyday. Your posting provided
nothing of the sort to me, but hey, I am still open if the
information is provided properly.

The Linksys router in question has the 192.168.0.x hard coded in the
configuration screen.  The only configurable portion of the address is the
last octet.  But, not having ever seen this before, I wouldn't expect a
helpful answer from you.  Learn something new everyday...isn't that how the
old saying goes?
