Subject: RE: [smartBridges] pocketMonitorI agree this would so make things easier right now we ordered a small 12v power pack (battery backup actually) and its supposedly light forgot the company that makes it and will use this for the SB and hopefully will get our pocketpc dreams fulfilled so we can all buy axim's and network cards CF so that we can have the optimal onsite checking not to mention site survey's would be so much easier.
Chris
PS. I note no response from any SB people today is it a holiday or is something happening at sb headquarters?

To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]I would love to ditch the laptop in favor of an Axim. I hate the 2 or 3 trips
up and down the roof to get all the equipment set up. I would carry the Axim
on my hip, don't have to worry about setting the laptop down on the chimney or
roof and watch it slide off. I could move the Axim easier to get the sun off
the screen. All I want is a NIC to interface w/ the radio for alignment/site
survey. Please SB, are you listening? This is just one more thing, next to
non-buggy firmware, that could make my job just a little easier.

Title: RE: [smartBridges] pocketMonitor
There
is plenty of software out there for Orinoco cards and cf cards ( so far all the
cf cards are Prism chipset). I use the Orinoco card with a funky adapter on my
Audiovox Maestro. The card has an external antenna port so you can hook into the
clients antenna when you get everything optimized it will be even better when
you hook the airbridge to it. It still would be nice to have something more
tuned for smartbridges but is not a necessity for site surveys by any means. So
go ahead and get your Dell Axims and the funky adapter so you can use the
Orinoco card (I highly recommend this card). You will then also be able to do
security checks and system monitoring with your pocket pc. It works for
me.Theres a wealth of information at http://www.netstumbler.com Don't
flame the site there's more WIFI info on that 1 site than you can find anywhere
else.
