I have a couple clients that have (after 5 months of perfect use) required a power reset on their side. It appears that after a couple days of non-activity, they lost their Ethernet connectivity to the aBo. I am tracking RSSI/LQ with MRTG, and they haven't skipped a beat on the wireless side. I am also using MRTG to graph the Ethernet usage (which is why I know they were off line for a couple of days). I am using static IPs, so I know they didn't lose the IP.
Is this signs of the impending Ethernet doom that I hear so much about?? I have yet to upgrade to the very latest firmware on ANY units yet. I saw a couple of scary posts the day after it was released and decided to hold off. So....two questions: 1. What is going on with my aBo units? Are they showing early signs of death? 2. Are the latest firmware/simpleMonitor releases working fine for everyone? I am not using PPPoE or DHCP...so they are not issues for me.
