I'm installing a monitoring software right now because it seems the problems with them freezing etc aren't happening to those of you running MRTG or something that keeps them active I will start doing this aswell and post my results.

Hum... maybe that's the difference between ours (which always seem to work)
and others - Nagios pings them every 2 minutes 24x7. Makes it much easier
to tell when something is broken.
