John,
Did you try accessing the http by directly connecting the AP to the PC
(using cross over adaptor)? Please verify the following.
1. Set the PC IP address (same subnet range)
2. Set the IP and correct GW IP address
3. Set the correct primary port=Ethernet
4. Ping the ISP's DNS ip address
5. browse the web.
What kind of CPE devices you are using to associate with AP?
If above results are successful, associate using CPE wireless unit and
change the preamble to "short" and see the results (by default AP set to
"long). If you find no effect, put back to "long".

If still problem exists, please restore the device to the factory
default (pressing reset for 20 seconds) and try again the same.

Thanks

Seeni,

First Thank you for actually sounding like you want to help, The
rest of
these responses just disagree with me.
I deployed this AP with just changing its IP address, everything
else is
factory. I even left it open and easily accessable for the test. I can
do
everthing but surf the NET. I first thought that this would be a problem
with their browser, so I swapped in my laptop, same issue. Actually
nothing
worked until I put the orinocco equipment back on the tower.

Don't missread this, I am not Bitching or complaining, just want
some
honest answers to get my clients going.

John

Hi John,
The airpointPRo and airbridge series are 802.11b standard based wireless
devices. The additional features and functionality will be varies
between the different manufactures products.
When you use sB's AP, the port 80 not responding means, could you please
give us the detail information of the AP's setup like firmware,
configuration etc..

Thanks

OK,

I have deployed many WET-11 CPE's, work great with orinocco AP's
and my
home made Linux loaded AP's. When i replaced the Orinoco stuff with
Smartbridge AP's all port 80 traffic stops.

strange, but true. Airbridges can pass everything, but no other
branded CPE
can. I thought these radios stayed in the 802.11 b standard, if not let
me
know.

John
