Hi there guys,

We've got two APPO's, one in AP mode and one in Bridge mode at two sites
here.

I've just moved some pc's from the bridged site to the site where the ap is,
but they can no longer see machines on the other network (including our
server - major problem!!)

I presume there must be a routing table in the bridge or ap which is
confused. I tried resetting the ap but that didn't work.

Did you reset the aPPO in CB mode too?

Yes, I've seen this too. I'm not absolutely sure about the exact
cause, but the most likely explanation is that the MAC forwarding
tables on the aPPO in AP and/or CB mode has a long timeout[1].
It has always been solved by resetting/repowering the radios and
the switches they are connected to.

The recommended solution is to put a router behind each radio and
route between the two network segments instead of bridging. That
will make sure that the MAC forwarding tables on the radios won't
get confused, since they will only see one single MAC on their
eithernet port. An additional advantage is that ethernet-level
broadcasts won't be forwarded on the wireless segment and thus free
up more bandwidth for real traffic passing through.

[1] Nish or Alex, how about providing information on the size and timeout values for the MAC forwarding tables? Access to those tables through SNMP would be very useful, too.
