Installed our first ABTotal with 85% link quality and 80% RSSI and
customer was loving it as I began to demo the connectivity. Just got
back and sure enough there was a message from that same customer saying
that there's no connectivity. No replies on pings, doesn't show up on
simplemonitor...i had them cycle power and still no luck...gotta go back
out there tomorrow. So much for first impressions.

BOY! That sounds Tough!! We have run into some of this, but not much.
Mostly rural areas we serve, and they are not really into it that much,
they just want faster service, and to not have to use a phone line with
it!

That's great. You must be in a relatively RF quiet area. Experience
comes with time and trying different things in different situations.
We've gone through about 4 radio changes, and 3 sector antenna changes
and 2 AMP changes before we found the combination of equipment that
actually works in this environment. Lucky for us SmartBridges was
around. :-)

Of course we're serving the RF Hell known affectionately
as Silicon Forest. We're serving the valleys just west of Portland,
Oregon where companies like Intel, Tektronics, and Nike reside. So we've
got technically minded people all over the place with Linksys WAP11s in
their homes, some with WAP11s and outdoor antennas sharing their DSL or
Cable access with his buddy down the street, and other fun things like
that.
