I am sure because they are not in the outdoors in the heat? I bet if you put 
that "indoor unit" outside in direct sunlight it will lock up just like the 
outdoor units and a LOT sooner too.

You have to compare apples to apples This is a good fix but not feasible trying 
to fix an existing customer having to run LMR 400 to the new "indoor unit" I 
even went as far as thinking of doing this with the outdoor units and mounting 
them inside the attic but it gets even hotter in there I took a temp gauge up 
there the other day and it measured 125*!!!! when outside it was 105 so as you 
can see this probably would not have been a good idea..
