How about this
one.
It's changed a little since
then. The blue omni you see behind
the 19db grid is a CB
antenna. The LMR240 cable from the 19db
grid goes in the back
window to the ABO that is tucked behind one
of the jump seats. It and
the laptop are powered with an inverter.
Now I've moved the 19db to
an actual DSS style mount on the light
bar mounted on the back of
the canopy. It sits in the middle of the
bar with a ladder on either
side of it. I'll try and get an updated picture
tomorrow.
Hey, I have had better luck with a ABI
double-sided foam taped to the top of my car than anything else!

Going to do some testing tommorrow. Got
me a 20 foot pole and a tripod to test with. Drop a omni or maybe just

Acutally, we got a 1.25 mile link today with
a 19db grid. Just have to get out far enough. I think maybe
the prob is that we are trying to grab too close to our tower, under .25
miles. And cause of that, it has to go though solid trees to get
there.

Just checking. I was thinking of the WISP24013 and WISP24019
which lets you choose orientation depending on which way you attach the
mounting bracket to the antenna.
The only way I know how to mount it on a
vertical pole with the Vertical arrow pointing up.!

Just a thought (I'm still catching up with the list). Are you
sure that your maxrad 14dB antenna is mounted for vertical polarity? I
think you can mount those both ways.
thats not always the answer you should be
getting at least 2-3 miles with NO amp I had mine at H pol and at 2.5
miles was able to get 600 up and down easy further out the upload went
down some as well. What polarity is the ant I am assuming V pol since
you are using the mobile omni I would seriously do a site survey to
see what's in the area causing possible interference. Then if thats
the case I would go the pac wireless 360 H Pol omni or two of the 13
db 95* h pol sectors on two separate radios.

I have one APPO currently, it has a 2
inch N Ginder changer then plugs into the N connector on the 8
inch pigtal off a MaxRAD WISP 14db 90degree antenna. No AMP
just the APPO direclty to the antenna. It is currently about
80 feet up with the sourrounding trees at 50-60 feet up. The
area is heavy trees, but we are above them. I can get good
coverage anywhere within .25 miles with just a ABI. I get
better singal when I use a ABO with 12 feet of RG5 (whatever comes
with the mag mount from pac wireless) connected to a 7db mobile
antenna. I can get about .75 miles out with just the ABI in
one spot on the road. Other than at, I hav'ent got much
else. I have tried from a hill with a good line of sight to
the APPO. I have a ABT, that just sux so far!
Any other suggestions?

1st off you need to give us details
one how you have the APPO set up on a tower on a hill on a
house, does it have an omni if so what type what polarity etc.
Did you do a site survey in that area to see if there is
interference especially if you are vertical polarity! if there
is which I suspect then I would suggest going H polarity. Until
we know your layout we can offer much more.

I have been having a hard time
getting signal. Most of my customers are around 40% RSSI
with Airbridge Indoors and are working well so far. But,
all these locations are within a mile of my Tower. I
have a VERY hard time getting anything over a mile!
Anyone wish to give me some
pointers? I have been using a AirBridge Outdoor plus a 7db
omni mag mount from Pac Wireless and a 19db grid from Pac to
test for signal. But it really stinks when I don't even
know if my signal from the tower is getting to me.. The
only thing I have is SimpleMonitor, which takes some time to
assoicate sometimes.
