Probably a lost TCP or UDP packet. Will not cause connectivity problems.

Subject: [smartBridges] Sharp Drops in Link Quality

Hi There,

We have a link established to evaluate smartBridges products. The base
installation is a air-Point Pro Outdoor and the client is a air-Bridge
Outdoor (aBO). The link has been operational for four days now and quite
stable. This morning for the first time we're having some link quality
issues.

On average the aBO is showing RSSI: 80% and Link Quality: 90%. These
numbers stay in a tight range of +/- 3% in general. I experienced some
connection loss problems on the internet this morning and started to log
RSSI and Link Quality from the aBO. I just reviewed 20 minutes of log data
and see five intervals of time (each interval is 1-2 seconds) where the RSSI
remains about 80% but the Link Quality drops to 0%. This is enough of a
glitch to cause a loss of connection on the internet.

What are the likely causes of this type of problem? What is Link Quality
actually measuring?

Thanks, Greg
