Man, do you need to do a little reading on a GPS. I have used GPSs to sail
across the Gulf of Mexico and they do heck of a lot more than give you
lat/long... at least any built since 1993 will.

Here is what you do. Go the base of each of your POP towers. Tell the GPS to
save the current location as a 'waypoint'. Save each POP as a different
waypoint. When you are on your customer's site, whip out the GPS and tell it
to 'Goto' the waypoint saved for the POP of your choice. It will quickly
tell you distance and bearing (for example 2.8 miles @ 143*). You can check
your LOS possibilities with each of your POPs by punching a couple of
buttons.

Now that I have distance and bearing, I need a compass to show me which way
143* is. A GPS will not show you your heading, only your 'course over
ground' or COG. To have a COG, you have to be moving. To get heading while
standing still, you need a compass. I use a lensatic compass like this:

GPS will not tell direction. GPS only tells you direction while IT is
moving. When your standing still it can't give directions. So GPS used
to figure out what long, lat your on as well altitude on both ends.
Then do the math.
http://www.fament.com/wireless/calculators/azimuth.php
To figure out the Compass direction to aim the antenna.

Up and downtilt can easily be calculated as well. All you need to know
is your ASL (Above See level) your at in both locations (the antennas)

http://www.fament.com/wireless/calculators/downtilt.php
Not entirely designed for this type of calculations but if you
normalize your levels and provide the amount of ' your one antenna end
is over the other antenna. Then by not providing a beamwidth you can
calculate out how far away the signal will hit ground with 0.5* downtilt
or 1* and so forth.

Then you aim in according to best measurements according to your
calculations.
When your dealing with say a 10 mile shoot and a antenna with 6* beam
and you can't see the other end due to distance you have to figure out
where pretty precisely you need to aim. Also when your doing
calculations it's important to know if you get true north or magnetic
north (above calcs are magnetic north). When I got our 12 mile link up
I used a different application that was set (without me knowing) to
give true north which meant it was about 4* off so when we had the
antenna aimed where we compassed out that it was supposed to be we
had no signal. So we took a chance and move it about 4* chancing the
calcs was true north instead of magnetic and SIGNAL. What a relief.
