Hi Pascal,
As you mentioned, you can use
APPO instead of ABO and it will allow more MAC comparing to ABO.
The ABO does the Multi MAC
translation and it is not a transparent device.
As far the APPO in CB mode concerned, it will act as a
transparent device which means the client PCs MAC address will be able to pass
thru the APPO. Since this mode supports more client and transparent bridging,
you could try this solution for your deployment.
On the ABO at the switch, you can use the firmware
0.01.07 or 0.01.08(Multi MAC & remote management) which supports the PPPoE
protocol using any PPPoE client including WinXP PPPoE
client.
The firmware supports for the following scenario and
no need to use 0.09.10 firmware(single MAC only). You may need this firmware,
if you want to connect your router�s LAN port directly to the ABO. Since the
APPO is connected to the router on the both scenario, the single MAC firmware
is not required.

You can choose either ABO or

Yes,
option #1 is simple in terms of implementation. However, please remember
that in order to use PPPOE, you have to "Allow non IP traffic" in the
Advance Tab of each aPPO.

Yes. The
current devices are (APPO & ABO) supports this configuration. We
have already tested this configuration and it is perfectly fine.

I got a tower
in place that has 2 smartbridge radios hung on it. The first radio
is a Air Bridge Outdoor attached to a 24 dbi grid that is talking to a
POP 3.5 miles away. On the other side of the tower, I have a
AirPointPro Outdoor attached to a 95 degree Sector Antenna pointing
toward wireless clients.
The radios are
connected to each other using a 4 port hub and one client computer is
also connected to that same hub.
The network
looks like this:
POP�ABO�hub�APPO�clients
The problem is
that right now all the clients are using a common IP Subnet as the ABO
(10.6.0.12, 255.255.248.0, POP Gateway 10.6.0.1). I have several
devices behind the APPO and wondered if I could stick a Cisco 2514 (2
ethernet ports, first one being on the 10.6.0.0 network, and the second
on the 192.168.1.0 network) between the ABO and the APPO and hand the
clients DHCP IP addresses generated by the router in the 192.168.1.1
255.255.255.0 subnet
Technically
will this work using my current equipment?
