I don't think this is necessarily true, many of the consumer grade AP's run
derivitives - and they offer some incredibly rich feature sets for a prices
that can be well below $100 - the linksys WRT54 being a perfect example.
Bandwidth shaping at the CPE end tho, would be a dream come true - that and
something affordable operating in the 5.8 Ghz range - compatible with
alvarion BreezeAccess VL base stations :)
