Hi,

My external Western Digital USB2.0 "Elements" model WD5000E035 (containing a
WD5000AAVS drive) is missing from the database and I would like to get it
added. I testedthis with the latest version of Smartmontools.

smartctl 5.39 2009-02-16 19:57 [i686-pc-mingw32-xp-sp3] (local build)

I don't know if this is related to it being missing from the database but
when i run it without the -dsat parameters I receive:

/dev/sdc: Unable to detect device type
Smartctl: please specify device type with the -d option.

Running with -dsat causes smartmontools to work fine. I have attached log
file for you so you can add drive to database. Please note I starred out
the drive serial number for privacy reasons.

Regards,

Richard
