I'm trying to backup my zones zpool so I can migrate to a different zpool configuration. I'm doing this by taking a snapshot of my zones zpool and zfs sending it to another temporary pool. However, the zfs send is also sending the mount points and smartos seems to be partially mounting zvols on the backup zpool and the primary zones zpool.

Is there a way to zfs send the zones zpool to a another zpool on the system so that zfs doesn't mount it? I tried to set the canmount zfs flag to no, but smartos seems to override it back to on.

Have you tried -u with zfs receive?
