VMADM_DEBUG_LEVEL="debug" vmadm boot c972de99-c811-4806-bbc2-186b1efe4181 and give me the output of that? And if that does not boot your zone still (which I'd expect) can you also try: zoneadm -z c972de99-c811-4806-bbc2-186b1efe4181 boot and tell me whether that either boots the zone or provides any output?
