The problem with the LVM implementation in Linux is that it  doesnot  honor  
write  barriers;  if  you  use  LVM, your data is notguaranteed to have been 
committed  to  stable  storage  when  LVMreports that the write has finished.
At least that was the case last I checked. If you are  intent  onusing LVM, you 
might want to research that again. Otherwise, noneof the systems using it can 
be considered safe for data.
