I have dl380 g6, and it works fine (kvm, zones, dtrace, etc). I just put the raid backplane in jbod mode and let zfs manage the data. I am not sure if the g7 models diverge significantly, so compare the specs. (I'll look at them myself when I get away). If diff is too big, you'll want a more informed opinion.
