Hi. I'm facing this worrying issue.
I want to migrate a physical server to a KVM machine.
Following some howtos I've found on google, I manage to "transform" two
physical servers running Centos 5.5 and 5.9 to two KVM machines on
SmartOS using rsync to migrate the disk content (from inside the VM,
starting with linux rescue, etc).

It was a successful and straightforward operation. Using mkinitrd to add
the virtio module was pretty easy.
I was happy. The new kvm machines boot up without any issue, only a
message complaining something about apic.

Now I'm facing this obscure situation: when I issue an rsync command,
linux automatically reboots. Always.
>From the GZ I can't notice a stop, the vm is running. I'm unable to see
any kernel panic message. Actually I don't know what to do.
At the same time a vm that was running for some days rebooted today
without any evidence.

The GZ is running joyent_20140515T211957Z.

Anyone has information of such behavior?
Where can I look at?

Thanks.
A
