The vmadm properties are what are stable. qemu_extra_opts is basically an escape hatch to do unsupported things. To date, it hasn't broken or changed, but we can't promise it won't in the future and there's nothing that's currently planned that might break it, fwiw. If there's something in their that makes more sense to stabilize, we can certainly talk through and consider it.
