If the mouse worked when at the command line, but not since X11 was
installed, then check the /etc/rc.conf file.
Verify a line entry exists that reads;
moused_enable="NO"

What commands were used to generate the xorg.conf?
These commands?

Xorg -configure
Xorg -config /root/xorg.conf.new
