The mouse works with Plan 9 (9front) in KVM on SmartOS, so I'd think FreeBSD
would too.

The solution always seems to be the same, remove those options and use
the normal PS2 emulated mouse.
I'm not sure you can do this easily via SmartOS, append options is easy
but removing, I found nothing on that front.
