What steps do I need to > take? > You could probably create your own platform image that works with with a 32-bit system by modifying the manifest in the root directory of the illumos-joyent repository. Keep in mind that you will be the only person running this. Being the only person is running something is often not a good path to be on. Having pain that is felt by many others is more likely to lead to timely resolution of problems.
