Hi,
1. start smartos in single user mode
2. import the zones pool
3. increase the swap volume size / configure a swap zvol matching ram
size
4. reboot and enjoy the extra ram for vms ;)
zfs set volsize=<size> zones/swap
Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Betreff: Re: [smartos-discuss] Adding RAM to an existing SmartOS machine
Hi Volker,
No, not really. Physical memory and swap are only loosely coupled
these
days;
On a newly created SmartOS instance the swap is as big as the RAM.
Or are you using the swap area on your disk as the dump device for
crahsdumps?
No, there are special core zfs datasets per zone on SmartOS for this
purpose.
Any other advice on RAM update?
- Stefan
