Full ack. Also, wrt the power handling, it is my daily experience that gpsd perfectly deals with the GPS chip on the freerunner being turned on and off at will, without a need of restarting it. So managing power state with gpsd only means fiddling with proc, and gpsd will take care of itself. In terms of submitting patches to gpsd, it is also my personal experience that people on #gpsd are helpful and reasonable people, esr especially, quite in contrast with the idea that sometimes people have of him: so I see no reason not to try and work with them on the AGPS part.
