The problem is a little bit more complex. Everytime the vala team releases a new version the suffix gets bumped. Currently it is at 0.12. So we have to catch up everytime vala moves up with a new suffix or mark some vala versions as FSO compatible and only use them. All in all not a really got solution the vala team chooses to realize parallel installs of different versions (btw. why do we need something like this?).
