That's pretty annoying, indeed. I'm afraid we can't do much about it
though, as it's their choice. The latest FSO-blessed version is 0.9.6.1
which claims to be vala-0.10. We should try update less often then.
FWIW, I'm pretty satisfied with the current state and guess the next
major update of our vala needs will be when glib 2.26 comes out and we
can all move to GDBus.
