No. After experimenting with some other options, the performance bug is being addressed with a variant of this approach. However, since fault scenarios need to be properly handled, the code as prototyped can't be directly integrated. I expect the code review will be posted here once it is ready. I believe it's being worked under bug 6507754, and Steve is actively working on the code. liane
