Yes and no.

The default behaviour is to not be recursive, so it will fail if
dependencies are not enabled or enable -t'd.
For recursive, then yes, it will also start -r (enable -srt) them.

start is really just an alias, I'm not creating new functionality here
(aside from making start -r/enable -srt slightly more verbose).
