Jens, Your solution seems to rely on install-info being available at install time, is that correct? Laca and Danek explained why that is not feasible in a previous thread: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=25976&tstart=0 (cross-platform installs being one of the main reasons).
