Well, I think we are jumping the gun here just a little bit. This is not the SMF FAQ, I don't think the SMF team had all reviewed it; they may decide ultimately this is not suitable. I started out calling the file smf-faq.txt because I had to call it something, and I had already too many foo.txt. It's sent to the discussion list as a Q&A, I think Liane and Bernd were discussing making a community-run FAQ and I didn't want to take that imprimature. So far this is just my notes on SMF. It can be used and put up anywhere anyone likes, but I don't think it should be called the SMF FAQ until the SMF team say so.
I think it would be great if I Google <some Solaris feature> + FAQ and get directed to an opensolaris page, and just one page. Not to advocate that opensolaris should have a monopoly on FAQs, but the alternative is worse for a first-time user of <some Solaris feature> when he finds 8 different but yet familiar FAQs and has to grok them all to determine what's authoritative and useful. Put the Q&A up anywhere you like, but the SMF FAQ should ultimately be on the SMF OpenSolaris community page, IMO. There is already a good precedent with the Zones FAQ done by Jeff. BTW a couple of months back I started doing an S10 FAQ compilation and eventually gave up. There's just too much to cover and it changes all the time. The distributed but accessible way (feature FAQ on feature discussion alias) is good, I think.
