Could you share more details about this?  It already occured to me that ZFS
has great potential for simplifying diskless installation and patching, and
I'm still a strong proponent of diskless clients (and AutoClients before
that), arguing they suffer much more from implementation problems than
fundamental issues.  Unfortunately, with the relevant parts of the install
consolidation still closed, there's not much an outsider can do about this.

As an experiment, I had already moved two test diskless clients to their
own zfs root filesystems on a Nevada-based server, but haven't gone on from
there yet.
