Hi,

I don't know if this has been discussed elsewhere, I just upgraded to
6/06 (yes, 2 weeks before U3 comes out) and am discovering that
gdm2-login is a hit or miss service. I don't know what the true hangup
is, but to me it's appears to be a timing condition that can be fixed
with dependency.

So, on my laptop, I may get "method exit due to error" or something like
that, and I end up having a text login screen. I login at console to
find gdm2-login in maintenance. I clear it, the service comes online, I
have a nice gdm greeter and I login. Peachy. Only when I get logged
in, there's no mouse response. I can't logout either. ALT+CTRL+BKSPC
to break session and I see something on console about utmp thinks it
owns /dev/console but gdm2-login thinks the same thing. There's really
no way to fix this unless I can get in via network and disable
gdm2-login, get my console back where I am still logged in, and exit
that shell.

My fix when gmd2-login goes into maintenance is to login at console and
do 'at now + 1 minute svcadm clear gdm2-login' and then quickly exit my
console login. Is there a bug filed or has this been fixed properly by
some other means?

CT
