Hmm,

just installed nv b79b and since I don't need smb service on each
client, I tried to disable it:

jel.dax ~ > svcs smb/server
STATE STIME FMRI
offline 20:19:06 svc:/network/smb/server:default

jel.dax ~ > + svcadm disable -s smb/server

jel.dax ~ > svcs smb/server
STATE STIME FMRI
disabled 20:46:43 svc:/network/smb/server:default

jel.dax ~ > + shutdown -r now

jel.q ~ > r dax

jel.dax ~ > svcs -xv
svc:/system/idmap:default (Native Identity Mapping Service)
State: disabled since Thu Feb 07 21:11:32 2008
Reason: Disabled by an administrator.
   See: http://sun.com/msg/SMF-8000-05
   See: man -M /usr/share/man -s 1M idmapd
   See: man -M /usr/share/man -s 1M idmap
Impact: 1 dependent service is not running:
        svc:/network/smb/server:default

jel.dax ~ > svcs smb/server
STATE STIME FMRI
offline 21:11:42 svc:/network/smb/server:default

Hmmm - so why doesn't get the 'disabled' state persisted to the smf db?
Any hints?

Thanx,
jel.
