Shall we call you Mallory or Messner? It's a first either way, but I'm
not sure whether this is analogous to a climb with oxygen assistance. ;)

I agree, and give my +1 to sponsoring this exploration. (I believe
Consensus vote is suggested for this action, and thus Nils requires 3
+1s and no -1s from the Core Contributors.) I don't require (and don't
think we should require, though they are interesting and deserve further
discussion) answers to David's technical questions before approving the
project -- they seem like issues that will need to be be addressed as
part of the project itself.

I'm not yet sure how this approach will pan out in terms of both
administrative interface and implementation, but think the best way to
figure that out is through prototyping and further discussion. A
project would be an ideal way to allow collaboration in doing that.

Nils, would you like your own mailing list for this project? (I'd think
it is appropriate, as you're likely to have interested folks who aren't
interested in all the day-to-day stuff of smf-discuss.)

As David suggested, informing the Storage community about this would be
a good way to reach an interested audience.

I'm willing to participate as I have time, but won't have much time for
a while. I promise to sign up for your mailing list, but you probably
don't want to list me as a team member until I contribute something
meaningful. :)
