Maybe what Michael mean is something like '[track_code]' on the SMS text.

smslib -- sms_out: "[123] how are you?" --> receiver

smslib <-- sms_in: "[123] hi, i'm fine" --- receiver

but still, these method is on app level implementation, not library (smslib)
level. I think.
