I also noticed on some modems that if I send a binary PDU without a
src/dest port number the message is garbage but once I put a port in
the data became as expected. I've successfully done this for an
application that uses JZLIB as a way of compressing large blocks of
text into a zipped binary on a midlet and a gsm modem. But when I
tried sending from a GSM modem to itself the data came out truncated
or just totally wrong.
