@xtreeme: thanks for the info, I guess I read some post with not enough proof of that.
Anyways, guys I'm still stuck on trying to understand why it's soo slow, and I found an older version of my app (just the .jar) that actually initialized much faster, even when that version of my app wasn't that outdated.. what actually makes every hypothesis I've made prior to this post just invalid, because they're both using the same rxtx :( Have any of you guys faced a slower initialization and the fixed it?
