I've never had a problem with Crucial or Kingston memory, some modules can have defects but they're replaced by the manufacturer pretty quick. For the MacBook you need 667Mhz DDR2 SODIMMs.
Fitting takes 2 minutes, you just take out the battery, undo 3 screws on the inside of the battery compartment (inside edge not outside edge of the compartment) pull the L shaped metal shield out, lever the original RAM out then push the new RAM in firmly.
