One top tip I picked up on Apple Discussions re. battery life, was to
switch off wifi and bluetooth if you were in an area where you weren't
likely to use them. (You go to Settings on the phone, then choose Wifi
for Wifi option and General for Bluetooth option).

I like my iPhone now, but went through a month of trial and
tribulation, when it crashed at least 5 times a week. All has been
well since the new 2.1 software update, but I discovered how important
it was to backup the data on the phone. I now do a backup once a day -
just connect to Mac and it all happens automatically in iTunes. If you
do have a crash, and you need to restore, it will remember all your
settings.

If you have any problems, such as the phone crashing, and the apple
logo appearing when you don't want it, this is the place to go for
help. Don't know why the info is not included in the box.

I have bought an inexpensive 2nd charger from Amazon, which means I
can recharge at work, if I need to. Haven't had to yet.

(And I also struggled with the sim card and had to search for the
little metal device).

Best wishes
Catherine
