I've found largely by trial that GPS consumes power like nobody's
business. On a couple of occasions I've needed to find ways round RTAs
and while the Google Maps and GPS location feature is great I've seen
battery life go down quite rapidly.

Although scientific my general observations are that leaving Bluetooth
off is good for battery life. Haven't bothered switching off WiFi or
3G.
