Hi Gilly It sounds like one of the inkjets in the print head is blocked rather than the ink running out.
If you run the Epson Printer Utility it should offer the option to print a test page - this will show if one or more if the inkjets is blocked, it should then offer a option to clean the print heads for you. Repeat this process a couple of times to see if that clears up the problem.
