Thank you so much Paul and Andrew!

I have been trying to follow your advice, but now I have a different 
problem. I simply can't get into Epson Printer Utility! I found it in 
Applications, but each time I tried to open it but I got the old 
beach ball going round forever. Now I notice that it is an Alias 
(rather than an Application), so I wonder what I do next. I'd be 
grateful for your further advice.
