Hi Adrian

You VMWare fusion installation saves all your windows files wrapped up
in a disk image, a disk file system within a file. This is how it
separates the OS installations and allows you to run an NTFS disk on
your Mac's drive as a file. When you delete files from that disk image
it won't necessarily reduce the size of the disk image file, instead
marking that part of the disk image as being free space (but free
space for the windows OS not Mac OS).

Hope that's not too confusing!

Regards

Sam
