Hi all, I've just bought a Canon PIXMA iP3600. I've plugged it into my iMac via USB, updated it with the latest drivers from Canon's web site and I can print just fine. :-)
I'm having a problem though trying to print from my iBook: The iMac and iBook are both running OS X 10.5.6 and are connected via Airport. I added the iP3600 with no problems via the Printer & Fax Preferences (it shows as "Canon iP3600 series @ Stephen's iMac") When I went to print, everything looked as I'd hoped, except that the Canon specific options in the Print Dialog were not in the same format as on the iMac, but they were there. I clicked Print, it went into the queue and then stopped. The amber light on the iP3600 flashed continuously and on the iBook print queue it showed an orange'!' triangle badged on the printer and next to that said 'com.apple.print.recoverable-warning'. I then decided to actually load the latest drivers onto the iBook in case that was the problem, so I installed them and restarted the iBook. When I went to print, everything looked as I'd hoped, and the Canon specific options in the Print Dialog were now presented in the same format as on the iMac. I clicked Print, it went into the queue and then stopped. The amber light on the iP3600 flashed continuously and on the iBook print queue it showed an orange'!' triangle badged on the printer and next to that said 'com.apple.print.recoverable-warning'. Doh! I've pressed the amber button on the printer to no avail. The only way to clear that seems to be to delete the job from the print queue. I used to be able to print fine to the previous (HP 1317) printer of yore via Airport from the iBook. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
