I have found using the iDisk is the best way to access files in
different locations. I split my time between Brighton and Scotland,
working across 3 separate Macs in three separate buildings. I have a
copy of the iDisk contents on each machine and all synchronised. Not
only am I able to work on the same files in different locations but it
is all automatically backed up as well. When I am in Scotland I have a
document scanner in Brighton set to store all scanned documents direct
to my iDisk so that a few minutes after someone in Brighton has
scanned them for me I am looking at the days post etc in PDF form on
my Scottish Mac. All in all I find it 99% reliable and absolutely
invaluable. As a final note I should add that I am mainly dealing with
financial documents, mostly in spreadsheet form, so the files are not
large. If you are dealing with large graphic files the synchronisation
times and iDisk space you will need to purchase will obviously be a
fair bit higher.
