It¹s just possible that the upgrade has taken place ­ have a look at your
firmware version on the modem. I seem to remember the same behaviour when I
last upgraded my Netgear Router/Modem.

I thought so.  When I browse to the .img file Netgear asks me to wait for "a
few minutes" which goes on for anhour and then I give up.  Perhaps I'm too
impatient - I'll try again at the weekend and give it a few hours.
