Hmmm...it sounds like your phone is syncing with both MobileMe and
your computer..but seems very strange.
Couple of clarification questions
Are you a new MobileMe/Iphone customer?
Is this a new phenomenon?..or has it been with you a while?
Do you have more than one email provider set up?..or just
MobileMe?
Are you perhaps syncing through iTunes as well as through the
cellular network?
You may need to reset your iPhone mail application and start from the
beginning to eradicate the problem
