Thanks Sam. I emailed BT initially, primarily because I couldn't face the idea of being repeatedly told to switch the router off an on again, and then being told that because the router isn't a BT model and the computer is a Mac that they can't help.
However, much to my amazement they called me within a couple of hours of sending the email. The guy on the phone was helpful, agreed that the speed was far slower that it should be, and said he'd see what he could do. He also said that it can be the case that speed drops after an exchange upgrade as the new equipment is fine-tuned to the local line conditions (not sure I entirely believe that) and that I should find it getting better over the next few days. Funny thing is, not long after I put the phone down, the speed jumped and I'm now running at 1.2M down and 400k up (according to thinkbroadband.com) Phil -- Phil Ward Skype: aphilw E: [email protected] E: [email protected] www.myspace.com/philwardmusic Phil Ward is the exclusive UK distributor for Veillette Guitars. www.veilletteguitars.com Consultant Designer of the Acoustic Energy AE22 nearfield monitor.
