Steve,

I have the same iMac as you and use a Netgear DG834PN and BT  
Broadband. Wireless access for me has never been particularly quick  
(mind-bendingly slow today for instance) and I've occasionally  
wondered about using an alternative router – I'd probably go for  
something other than Netgear however (recommendations anyone).
